The datasets collected by the core instrumentation systems of the CCGS Amundsen’s and those collected in partnership with research programs are made publicly available after going through a rigorous Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) process. Most of the data is stored on and can be downloaded from the Polar Data Catalog (PDC). For some datasets, preliminary versions are uploaded to the PDC as soon as available, and updated versions are posted as the QA/QC process progresses. Use the following table to find how to access our various datasets, and please make sure to comply with our acknowledgement policies described below.

License, acknowledgement and citation
Proper acknowledgement and citation allow the tracking of data usage and is essential to demonstrate outcomes of the Amundsen Science program to funding agencies and stakeholders. Please follow the indications below for proper data citation and attribution.
Citing the data in your publications
You should include in the appropriate citation for the dataset that you used in the reference section of your publications. The proper citation is described in the metadata of your datasets, but you can also refer to the following guide to properly cite our data.
Acknowledging the data in your publications
Here is an example of how you should acknowledge our core instrumentation datasets in your publications:
The data presented herein were collected by the Canadian research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen and made available by the Amundsen Science program, which is supported through Université Laval by the Canada Foundation for Innovation.
Moorings and other data collected by researchers onboard the CCGS Amundsen or supported by our organization should also be properly acknowledged by citing the program through which they were collected and by mentioning the support provided by Amundsen Science. The exact attribution is described in the Readme file attendant to the data and follows the general format below:
The [instrument name] data were collected on board the Canadian research icebreaker CCGS Amundsen as part of the [project name] project. Logistical support was provided by the Amundsen Science program, which is supported by the Canada Foundation for Innovation through Université Laval.
License for Amundsen Science core data
Most of Amundsen Science datasets are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) Public License. The license grants the rights to the public to use and share the data and results derived therefrom as long as the proper acknowledgement is given to the data licensor, that any alteration to the data is clearly indicated, and that a link to the original data and the license is made available.
