d&rsquo;exploration de la cuvette M\u00e9catina<\/h3>\n<p><em>27 juin (Qu\u00e9bec) au 10 juillet (Goose Bay)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Le premier leg de l\u2019exp\u00e9dition <em>Amundsen<\/em> 2025 a accueilli un nouveau programme dirig\u00e9 par P\u00eaches et Oc\u00e9ans Canada, l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Memorial et l\u2019UQAR : le programme d&rsquo;exploration de la cuvette M\u00e9catina. Ce programme visait \u00e0 mieux comprendre les habitats et \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes uniques du golfe du Saint-Laurent et \u00e0 recueillir des donn\u00e9es de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence sur la cuvette de M\u00e9catina. \u00c0 l\u2019aide du v\u00e9hicule t\u00e9l\u00e9guid\u00e9 (ROV) du NGCC <em>Amundsen<\/em>, les \u00e9quipes scientifiques ont effectu\u00e9 neuf plong\u00e9es, explorant les communaut\u00e9s benthiques et les habitats du fond marin. Elles ont pu observer la biodiversit\u00e9 vivant dans les eaux de cette r\u00e9gion : \u00e9ponges, coraux, an\u00e9mones, crabes, poissons, crevettes et coquillages. Les programmes principaux menant les op\u00e9rations scientifiques \u00e9taient Imappivut et les Refuges benthiques, r\u00e9unissant des chercheurs de P\u00eaches et Oc\u00e9ans Canada, du gouvernement du Nunatsiavut, ainsi que d\u2019autres partenaires gouvernementaux et universitaires. Pour une troisi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e cons\u00e9cutive, le programme Imappivut, vise \u00e0 comprendre la distribution des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes marins vuln\u00e9rables (VME) dans les eaux c\u00f4ti\u00e8res et marines du Nunatsiavut, de la mer du Labrador et des r\u00e9gions adjacentes. Le programme Refuges benthiques du MPO se concentre sur la surveillance des zones benthiques sensibles au sein des refuges marins de l\u2019Est de l\u2019Arctique, tels que le bassin Hatton, le d\u00e9troit de Davis et les zones de conservation du c\u00f4ne Disko.<\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 des vents forts et des courants puissants, les \u00e9quipes et la Garde c\u00f4ti\u00e8re canadienne ont r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 effectuer pr\u00e8s de 200 op\u00e9rations scientifiques, y compris diverses collectes de donn\u00e9es et d\u2019\u00e9chantillons dans le lac Melville et ses environs, une zone encore jamais \u00e9tudi\u00e9e par l\u2019<em>Amundsen<\/em>. Le navire a \u00e9galement long\u00e9 la c\u00f4te du Nunatsiavut et la mer du Labrador pour r\u00e9aliser diverses op\u00e9rations, dont des explorations au ROV et des observations aux sites de plong\u00e9es pr\u00e8s de Makkovik et Sentinel. De nombreuses images du fond marin ont \u00e9t\u00e9 recueillies au moyen de trois plong\u00e9es avec ASTRID, le v\u00e9hicule t\u00e9l\u00e9guid\u00e9, quatre plong\u00e9es avec le mini v\u00e9hicule t\u00e9l\u00e9guid\u00e9, ainsi que par le d\u00e9ploiement de cam\u00e9ras vari\u00e9es dans le fond de l\u2019eau.<\/p>\n<p>Une escale \u00e0 Makkovik a permis la tenue d\u2019une journ\u00e9e scientifique organis\u00e9e par le gouvernement du Nunatsiavut et les membres de la communaut\u00e9, en collaboration avec Amundsen Science. Le programme KEBABB (Knowledge and Ecosystem-Based Approach in Baffin Bay) se consacre \u00e0 la compr\u00e9hension des interconnexions entre l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re, la glace et l\u2019oc\u00e9an, ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tude des impacts des changements climatiques sur les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes marins. R\u00e9unissant des chercheurs et des professionnels de P\u00eaches et Oc\u00e9ans Canada, de plusieurs universit\u00e9s et du Programme inuit de formation et de d\u00e9veloppement, le programme KEBABB a inclus de nouveaux transects dans le d\u00e9troit de Davis dans son ambitieux plan d\u2019op\u00e9rations.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la collaboration entre les \u00e9quipes scientifiques et la Garde c\u00f4ti\u00e8re canadienne, neuf transects ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s, totalisant 227 op\u00e9rations scientifiques. Dans la continuit\u00e9 des op\u00e9rations de 2024, les \u00e9quipes du programme TCA ont cartographi\u00e9 et \u00e9chantillonn\u00e9 trois fjords au sud de Qikiqtarjuaq et ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 le tout premier d\u00e9ploiement d\u2019une chambre benthique en Arctique \u00e0 partir de l\u2019<em>Amundsen<\/em>.<br \/>\nL\u2019un des plus longs carottes s\u00e9dimentaires jamais pr\u00e9lev\u00e9es \u00e0 bord du navire a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 recueilli dans le fjord Coronation, atteignant 7,35 m\u00e8tres.<\/p>\n<p>De plus, des professionnels du centre de recherche de Qikiqtarjuaq ont pu visiter le NGCC <em>Amundsen<\/em> et participer \u00e0 certaines op\u00e9rations scientifiques r\u00e9alis\u00e9es dans la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n \u00celes de la Reine-\u00c9lizabeth et dans l&rsquo;aire marine prot\u00e9g\u00e9e de Tuvaijuittuq<\/h3>\n<p><em>4 septembre (Resolute Bay) au 2 octobre (Resolute Bay)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Le NGCC <em>Amundsen<\/em> a ensuite navigu\u00e9 vers les eaux septentrionales pour la quatri\u00e8me mission de l\u2019exp\u00e9dition 2025. Le relev\u00e9 des \u00eeles de la Reine-\u00c9lisabeth (QEI Survey) constituait le principal programme de cette mission. S\u2019appuyant sur les recherches ant\u00e9rieures men\u00e9es dans la zone de protection marine de Tuvaijuittuq, ce programme vise \u00e0 mieux comprendre les circulations d\u2019eau douce, les interactions glace-oc\u00e9an, et les changements des conditions de glace autour des \u00eeles de la Reine-\u00c9lisabeth.<\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 les d\u00e9fis pos\u00e9s par la navigation dans des eaux couvertes de glace ancienne et \u00e9paisse, l\u2019Amundsen a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 atteindre plusieurs d\u00e9troits, fjords et glaciers dans le nord de l\u2019archipel afin d\u2019y effectuer diverses op\u00e9rations : cartographie du fond marin, \u00e9chantillonnage de l\u2019eau, des s\u00e9diments et des esp\u00e8ces marines. En \u00e9troite collaboration avec la Garde c\u00f4ti\u00e8re, les \u00e9quipes scientifiques ont \u00e9chantillonn\u00e9 six stations de glace de mer et trois fjords \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de la zone de protection marine de Tuvaijuittuq et au sud des \u00eeles de la Reine-\u00c9lizabeth. Le voyage a d\u00e9but\u00e9 par une journ\u00e9e scientifique le 6 octobre \u00e0 Iglulik. Des rencontres avec les organisations communautaires \u00e9taient au programme, ainsi que des activit\u00e9s dans l\u2019\u00e9cole de la communaut\u00e9. Un moment marquant a cl\u00f4tur\u00e9 cette journ\u00e9e : une performance d\u2019Artcirq, la toute premi\u00e8re troupe de cirque inuite au monde, alliant musique, tradition et cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Le programme principal de ce leg \u00e9tait le FoxSIPP (Foxe Basin Sea Ice Pump), qui vise \u00e0 \u00e9tudier la chimie des eaux profondes form\u00e9es annuellement dans le bassin Foxe et s\u2019\u00e9coulant vers le chenal Foxe. \u00c0 la demande de l\u2019association locale des chasseurs et trappeurs (HTA), les \u00e9quipes \u00e0 bord ont \u00e9galement men\u00e9 des op\u00e9rations dans le d\u00e9troit Steensby. Des \u00e9chantillonnages de rivi\u00e8res ont aussi \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019aide de l\u2019h\u00e9licopt\u00e8re du navire, dans les secteurs nord et ouest du bassin
