DEVOIRS DE LA GARDE C\u00d4TI\u00c8RE CANADIENNE<\/h3>\n<p><em>14 juin (Qu\u00e9bec) au 10 juillet (St. John\u2019s, NL)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cette ann\u00e9e, le premier Leg de l\u2019exp\u00e9dition <em>Amundsen<\/em> \u00e9tait d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019accomplissement de certaines t\u00e2ches de la Garde c\u00f4ti\u00e8re dans la mer du Labrador. Des membres de l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe d&rsquo;Amundsen Science \u00e9taient \u00e0 bord pour entretenir le parc d&rsquo;\u00e9quipements scientifiques et mener des op\u00e9rations scientifiques opportunistes telles que l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillonnage de l&rsquo;eau de mer. Ce Leg s&rsquo;est termin\u00e9 le 10 juillet \u00e0 St. John\u2019s pour une journ\u00e9e de mobilisation scientifique.<\/p>\n                        <\/div>\r\n\r\n                    \r\n                \r\n                    \r\n                        \r\n                        <div class=\"text-area wysiwyg\">\r\n                            <h3>LEG 2 &#8211; IMAPPIVUT, DFO BENTHIC REFUGES, KEBBAB ET TCA<\/h3>\n<p><em>11 juillet (St. John\u2019s) au 29 juillet (Qikiqtarjuaq) \u2013 29 juillet (Qikiqtarjuaq) au 8 ao\u00fbt (Iqaluit)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Les scientifiques du second Leg ont embarqu\u00e9 sur l\u2019<em>Amundsen <\/em>le 11 juillet \u00e0 St. John\u2019s, Terre-Neuve et Labrador. Ce Leg \u00e9tait divis\u00e9 en deux portions par une rotation du personnel scientifique \u00e0 Qikiqtarjuaq le 29 juillet.<\/p>\n<p>La premi\u00e8re portion de ce Leg (a) \u00e9tait d\u00e9di\u00e9e aux programmes Imappivut et DFO Benthic Refuges. S\u2019appuyant sur l\u2019exp\u00e9dition <em>Amundsen<\/em> 2023 et sur les recherches ant\u00e9rieures d\u2019autres programmes de recherche, le programme Imappivut a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u pour \u00e9tudier la biodiversit\u00e9 benthique dans les oc\u00e9ans du nord du Canada, les habitats sensibles des eaux c\u00f4ti\u00e8res aux eaux profondes et la caract\u00e9risation des communaut\u00e9s de faune d\u00e9mersale et p\u00e9lagique. R\u00e9unissant des scientifiques de P\u00eaches et Oc\u00e9ans Canada, du gouvernement du Nunatsiavut et d&rsquo;autres partenaires gouvernementaux et universitaires, le programme Imappivut vise \u00e0 comprendre la r\u00e9partition des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes marins vuln\u00e9rables (EMV) dans la mer du Labrador et les zones adjacentes.<\/p>\n<p>Le programme des refuges benthiques du minist\u00e8re des P\u00eaches et Oc\u00e9ans s&rsquo;est \u00e9galement d\u00e9roul\u00e9 au cours du Leg 2a et se concentre sur la surveillance des zones benthiques sensibles dans les refuges marins de l&rsquo;Arctique de l&rsquo;Est.<\/p>\n<p>La deuxi\u00e8me partie du Leg (b) comprend des op\u00e9rations dans le cadre du programme KEBABB et du programme de recherche <em>Transforming Climate Action<\/em> (TCA). Ces op\u00e9rations scientifiques se sont d\u00e9roul\u00e9es principalement autour de Qikiqtarjuaq, dans les fjords de la r\u00e9gion, et dans le d\u00e9troit de Davis. Le programme KEBABB (Knowledge and ecosystem-based approach in Baffin Bay), \u00e9tabli en 2019, se concentre sur le d\u00e9veloppement et la mise en \u0153uvre d&rsquo;une approche \u00e9cosyst\u00e9mique de la gestion des p\u00eaches dans la baie de Baffin. Cette recherche comblera les principales lacunes en mati\u00e8re de connaissances pour une exploitation et une gestion durable des p\u00eaches dans l&rsquo;est de l&rsquo;Arctique. Ces 28 jours de science en mer ont permis aux programmes Refuge-Arctic et ArcticCORE de r\u00e9aliser leurs collectes de donn\u00e9es et d\u2019\u00e9chantillons, ainsi que de r\u00e9cup\u00e9rer les mouillages d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s en 2023 par le programme Red-AO. D\u00e8s le premier jour de ce Leg, le NGCC <em>Amundsen<\/em> a navigu\u00e9 vers le Nord pour visiter plusieurs fjords de l&rsquo;\u00eele d&rsquo;Ellesmere et les eaux peu profondes du d\u00e9troit de Nares. Le programme Refuge-Arctic vise \u00e0 mieux comprendre les changements environnementaux en cours dans les r\u00e9gions \u00a0\u00bb refuges \u00a0\u00bb de l&rsquo;Arctique, o\u00f9 la glace restera le plus longtemps, pr\u00e9servant ainsi la biodiversit\u00e9 et la biog\u00e9ochimie des r\u00e9gions couvertes de glace. Lors de ce Leg, les scientifiques du programme Refuge-Arctic ont revisit\u00e9 le fjord Archer et ont \u00e9tudi\u00e9 les glaciers des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du d\u00e9troit de Nares, y compris le glacier Petermann.<\/p>\n<p>Le programme ArcticCORE (Conservation, Observation, Research &amp; Engagement) \u00e9tudie le syst\u00e8me connect\u00e9 atmosph\u00e8re-glace-oc\u00e9an dans les eaux septentrionales de l&rsquo;\u00eele Devon et dans diff\u00e9rentes stations du d\u00e9troit de Nares. Un nouveau groupe de scientifiques du programme Refuge-Arctique a particip\u00e9 \u00e0 ce Leg avec des scientifiques des programmes KEBABS, TCA, ArcticCORE\/KEBABS et CEOS-CERC. Cette \u00e9quipe multidisciplinaire de scientifiques internationaux s&rsquo;est concentr\u00e9e sur la compr\u00e9hension du fonctionnement physique, chimique et biologique du refuge de glace de mer pluriannuel dans l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an Arctique et a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 les processus cl\u00e9s li\u00e9s aux changements pass\u00e9s, pr\u00e9sents et futurs induits par le climat dans les zones les plus au sud de la mer de Lincoln et dans le d\u00e9troit de Nares. Les \u00e9quipes ont \u00e9galement \u00e9tudi\u00e9 des transects importants dans le d\u00e9troit de Barrows et dans la polynie des eaux du Nord. Ce Leg \u00e9tait divis\u00e9 en deux portions entre lesquelles une rotation scientifique a eu lieu \u00e0 Kuujjuaq le 20 octobre.<\/p>\n<p>La premi\u00e8re portion du Leg (a) a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 des transects couverts par les programmes TCA et KEBABB. Filets, rosettes et autres instruments ont \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9s pour \u00e9tudier les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes marins du d\u00e9troit de Lancaster, de la baie de Baffin et du d\u00e9troit de Davis. La deuxi\u00e8me portion du Leg (b) \u00e9tait consacr\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00c9cole doctorale Sentinel North et Wage. Dans le cadre de cette \u00e9cole doctorale internationale, des \u00e9tudiants et des chercheurs internationaux ont travaill\u00e9 dans une approche intersectorielle combinant les sciences sociales et naturelles, et ont rencontr\u00e9 plusieurs parties prenantes et organisations \u00e0 Kuujjuaq avant d&#8217;embarquer sur l&rsquo;<em>Amundsen<\/em>. \u00c0 bord, les participants ont pr\u00e9lev\u00e9 des \u00e9chantillons dans trois des principaux affluents de la baie d&rsquo;Ungava afin d&rsquo;obtenir des donn\u00e9es \u00e9cologiques, \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 qu&rsquo;il existe tr\u00e8s peu de donn\u00e9es environnementales \u00e0 l&rsquo;heure actuelle. Ces nouvelles connaissances pourraient \u00eatre utiles pour soutenir l&rsquo;innovation et la r\u00e9silience des communaut\u00e9s. Le Leg 5 de l&rsquo;exp\u00e9dition <em>Amundsen<\/em> 2024 s&rsquo;est terminer le 29 octobre \u00e0 Qu\u00e9bec et a pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 la d\u00e9mobilisation
